MEETING THE CHALLENGES OF TODAY....WITH EXPERIENCE.
The twenty first century has brought about many changes; government isn’t about handouts from the state and federal government anymore, government isn’t about expanding services either. Today, government is making do with what you have. It is about utilizing creative planning to make ends meet, stabilize taxes, and provide for citizens without cutting programs. It is a challenge that is met everyday in the offices of Cliffside Park Borough Hall.
It is a challenge that:
- We meet by continuing to deliver the finest programs for our citizens. From sports of all sorts, to our successful Junior Police Academy, to recreation for senior citizens. Everyone has something they can participate in within our borough.
- Our Public Safety Department meets by having more community outreach than ever before. Having police on the street meeting people gives you an opportunity to know your neighborhood police officer, and gives them an opportunity to know what’s happening around town. We also have certified, paid EMT’s to meet any medical emergency needs you may have.
- The Department of Public Works continues to meet by having the fastest snow removers in Bergen County! We still provide personalized service for residents – picking up appliances and other items that would cost you money if we didn’t do it for you.
- The Public Library meets by continuing to expand its programs for children, young adults, and seniors. Walk into the library any time of day, and you will see it bustling with activity. Libraries aren’t necessarily quiet these days! You can enjoy movies, book discussions, arts and crafts, and academic activities.
- The Mayor and Council meets by updating the streetscape on our shopping district.
